  • There are blessings all around you.

I’ll be honest, I have heard and read some sad things this past week and I am only now getting to a point where I can find any goodness to write about. Maybe some weeks my posts don’t resonate with you, I understand that. But here is something you can always hold onto: whatever you…

  • What the birds teach me

Do you ever notice the lessons from the world around you? There is an abundance in nature for you to explore, and it’s free!

  • Lift your head

When we’re going through something tough, it becomes so difficult to look beyond it to other things and people. Everything becomes related to our situation and consequently blocked out. This is not good. And so I am feeling the need to look beyond myself and allow others to have the full understanding and compassion they…

  • Reject the absolutes

Perhaps you remember a time when someone said something about you that made you feel hopeless but has never left your mind. It is funny (and yet not funny) how a few spoken words can stick, and direct many of your future choices.

  • Not everyone wins

So the rest of us have to learn how to lose well. I watched the different responses of the Ireland rugby team at the end of their game on Saturday; most were crying, some were on their knees, others were hiding their faces in their rugby shirts. Losing something you had completely invested in and…

  • When was the last time

Someone encouraged you? If you are still running on the positive words spoken to you years ago, it’s time for something new! I have been so aware of the number of people I know who are downhearted at the moment. Sometimes all it takes is a small bit of encouragement to help them keep going.…

  • Found.

I thought my earring was gone for good but then my daughter found it. Last week I was sitting on the kitchen floor unable to get myself up, but then my neighbour found me and helped me up. Those two events, little and big, involved finding. The joy surrounding both was great!

  • Look out for

The helicopters. I’m sure you know the story about the drowning man who refuses offers of help, saying that God would rescue him, not realising that God had sent the boat and helicopter to save him. I wonder how much help we miss out on because we’re looking in the wrong place?
