Every ‘unremarkable’ day

‘today is just like yesterday and tomorrow’s going to be just like today.’

Or so says a character in Isabel Allende’s The Wind Knows my Name. Do you live a life like that? Is there anyone who doesn’t?

I often think my life is a repetition of nothings. But right now I’m saying it’s got to stop! You have to believe that you are more than the things you do or can’t achieve. As Chris Martin sings ‘you’re a sky full of stars’. Every smile, every kind word matters. As the frequent recipient of these, I know😊.

If you ever get stuck watching reels, notice how many supposed ‘nothings’ get recorded and shared. Somebody thinks they are of value. Of course, you could argue they are a waste of time, but some might be the only way they can do to feel watched or heard.

I love the idea that we are seen and held by the Father who loves us. Maybe you don’t believe that, but I do, and it’s the only way I can keep walking through this tough life.

See how many stars you can collect today. Even looking up to watch the clouds or listening to the birds can turn a mundane day into a time full of wonder.

If you believe that you are remarkable, you will live your life like that.  Try it and see.
