There is a prayer I read every day that talks about the God of life and colour. Of course, He can be in the mundane and dull too!
Some of my posts can be a little dreary, so I’m bringing in the colour today! This past week I have been more dull than usual. Isn’t it funny how we question anything that should be welcomed as good news by trying to find the bad in it? I caught myself saying ‘I am so weak today’ when I should have been congratulating myself on the small difficulties I have faced.
Look for the light and colour in even the darkest hour. That is my challenge for myself and for all of you. I’m looking out at the dark right now, but the one thing that my eyes are drawn to is a porch light that is defying the creeping black around it. I delight in creating that light in the darkness through my writing. I will always hold it up for you, as long as I can.
Jesus said ‘I am the light of the world’. Can you be that for people around you? It is hard, but push back your black misgivings and hold up any treasures you might find.
Don’t be defeated. Don’t let the darkness win. As Chris Tomlins sings, ‘Though darkness fills the night. it cannot hide the light.’ If we believe that, life could be a little easier.
