And don’t be put off by the loud successes of people around you I have been trying to follow that advice for a long time but it is so hard.
I remember in school it was very difficult to keep your eyes down and ignore the people who had already finished with half an hour to spare (that was you o husband of mine🙄) If you are in a race, looking around could prove hazardous. It is a hidden mercy that I can’t look behind or around when I’m ambling along with my rollator. Everyone has their own speed and that is absolutely fine.
The walk of life has many speeds, and nobody has the authority to decree how fast or slow you live it. There are many times when I wish I could run alongside people. Running with my brother would be fun. Or my son. When I wish things like that I always say, ‘maybe in heaven’. My schedule there is going to be choc-a-block! Just as well it’s forever!
The moments when we stop can be gifts in themselves. I have had some of my best experiences when I get alongside someone and take time with them. So take delight in your pace, fix your sights on what is important to you and don’t be put off by what other people are doing,
It is always going to be a challenge, but you are strong enough to take it on. Listen out for your friends cheering you on👏
