I’ve been making myself sad by reading a few ‘letters’ by people with MS, published by the MS Society.

I have to share my letter. It is sad but the best thing is, there is NO FULL STOP. Nothing ends with defeat. I believe that so strongly. There is a verse in the Bible that says, ‘joy comes in the morning’*. That is what I live for. Every day I need to remember that nothing ends with sadness.

I am here to tell you that I don’t have a letter that makes you sad or give a donation (although that is always welcome!). My story has many moments of kindness and beauty. Leave the tears to me, and delight in the small blessings I find every day.

There is always hidden heartbreak, but the people who come alongside me are all my heroes. That is all of you! I am overcome with thankfulness for all these grace moments. Let’s not give MS the ending. Let’s not give it our tears. Let’s always believe that joy comes not still in the morning, but in every day, in countless moments.

So I finish this letter not in tears but with a smile on my face because this is not the end, and life forever is promised
