Fear of flying

I have discovered that everything I do, every movement, every step, every venture has been shrunk down to avoid mishap. The fear of falling has swamped every big dream for my life.

Do you ever feel like your life is much smaller than you hoped it would be? I may have discovered a way to remedy that. In the New Testament there are many surprising, seemingly contradictory statements that might help with feelings of inadequacy. I read this morning 2 Corinthians 12v9,’my strength is made perfect in weakness ‘. All of the beatitudes make contradictory promises to the poor, the persecuted, the mourning. the hungry, the thirsty. How can we ever hope for something that seems completely out of our reach? The Bible tells us it is possible.

Thinking outside of that, I am so thankful for my trike that helps me fly, my rollator that brings me closer, my grab-rail that keeps me steady, my shower seat that helps me wash my hair, my wheelchair that brings me into the shops and right in front of the Mona Lisa(!). I will keep thinking of ways to get near and maybe even fly. Don’t ever think that you can’t do things, maybe think differently about how to do them. If you ever think, ‘i have always wanted to ..’, tell an imaginative person and wait for them to make it happen.

So, push down all the ‘never’s, all the ‘can’t’s, all the fears and start shooting for the stars again. I have scars of failures, as I am sure you do, but I’ll try my best to fly if you come too 🥰
