The cherry trees have lost their petals but in between them, another tree with its own blossom has appeared: the hawthorn. As I noticed it I realised that there was something, a certain quality, that we all need. It’s the ability to be positive even when everything around us is failing.
It is vital that we acknowledge loss and tough situations in life. You can’t brush it away like fallen cherry blossom. But it’s also crucial to stand firm, especially when so much is falling down beside us.
How do we do that though? I don’t always find a way through, but sometimes I find leaning on others, getting lifted up with gratitude or standing firm on faith helps a lot . Without thinking, the hawthorn steadies itself with roots and celebrates with blossom. Just like we try to do as people. I wonder what will bloom in the winter? I wonder how we can?
Even in this time of dusty, disrupted upheaval, I recognise the need for something to steady me. I described it as ‘being in stasis’ recently. But maybe something is already changing.
What about you? Do you feel like things are falling apart? Do you need to find a way to stand tall? Or sit strong 🙄. When the hawthorn blooms, it’s a sign of warmer days coming. So take heart, have hope and look out your window🤗
