Celebrate

Your achievements, however small they might appear to other people.

I was notified today that I have been blogging with wordpress for eighteen years.🎉 In my healthier past I would feel a sense of achievement when I swam forty lengths or baked a fantastic cake. These quieter days, my bar is much lower. But, happily, it is still there. Maybe the achievements don’t look like anything, but if they cost you something, they must be celebrated.

This morning I made myself a coffee, sorted out the washing and walked down the hall with a rollator. A minimal achievement for most but important for me. When everything is a challenge, everything matters.

Do you have things you have to overcome at the moment? Do they terrify you? Can you get someone to be beside you as you face them? Don’t be like me and hide from things that scare or embarrass you. Stand up to them and remember you are more than able to achieve whatever you put your mind to. It might be smaller and take longer than before but it still counts.

So pat yourself on the back for all the tiny, huge things you have done today. Or yesterday. Or maybe tomorrow, you never know. There are no awards for living at home, no bonuses, no one-to-ones, no applause, no prizes, but you need to remind yourself every time you achieve something that the One who sees it all, sees you. Nothing goes unseen. Everything counts. You count, you are seen and you are loved. ❤️
