Are possibly the ones that make us who we are. In my (all too frequent) times of self-pity I lament everything I have lost. Everything that my bad health has taken from me. But, light bulb moment!- maybe what is left is actually the best of me. Maybe that is true for you as well.
Say goodbye to the feeling of being bereft and hello to the plenty that is right around or within you. Feeling without is a horrible place to live in. Honestly, I am tired of the struggle that creates for me. On my good days I resolve to be better and make plans. The next day I decide it’s all too much and everything stays the same. The human condition I suppose.
Thinking back over this past week, I can spot things I can hold up as a tribute to myself. Like a friendly conversation, a thank-you to someone who is having a busy day, an exchanged smile. I know that seems like nothing but right now, that’s how I affirm who I am. What is it for you?
Nothings can amount to everythings, when someone is alone or in pain. So, as you watch people rake up the fallen leaves this autumn, think about the pieces of yourself that you can gather up to help someone else. Believe that you are of worth, believe that you have very precious, unique gifts to offer. Pieces can make a whole lot of sense, if they’re put together. It’s up to you to figure out how!
