The lifeboat is there.

When you are facing stormy seas in your life, never forget to look out for lifeboats.

I was looking through all the many titles I’ve written that haven’t ever published and I noticed that the last few have been entitled things like ‘wilderness’ or ‘the desert place’. Not good, is it? But today, I want to focus on how we can be rescued from hard situations, or find the tools to survive them. The most important word to anyone facing storms or hardship has got to be ‘hope’. How can you look for what you don’t believe will ever come? I’m here, speaking out of a time where nothing is happening that should be. I am waiting for things to change, but in the meantime my hand is over my eyes as I watch for lifeboats. They mightn’t look like the one in the picture; they might be a friend making you dinner, a son carrying you up tea, a daughter cleaning the oven for you, an unexpected call with an old friend or your parents coming to visit.

You see? Rescues are everywhere. Sometimes you need to call for them, sometimes you need to admit you need help. If you believe, God is there, waiting to lift you up. But in my experience, it is the people around you who can be His hands and feet. The greatest thing is that around you, beside you is Jesus Christ, who holds all of your hope. That is, for all of us, the hardest but greatest thing to live for.

If you can’t see that yet, remember lifeboats are bouncing across your stormy seas and soon, they will reach you. Don’t lose hope. Keep a look out because they will come.
